Community Advocate & Multilingual Interpreter

Elena is a dedicated multilingual interpreter, cultural mediator, and community advocate, committed to supporting migrant communities in the UK. Originally from Bulgaria, she moved to the UK in 2000 and has since played a vital role in helping individuals overcome language barriers and integrate into their new environment. She is fluent in English, Bulgarian, Polish, and other Slavic languages.

As a Bulgarian interpreter, Elena has worked extensively with diverse communities, including Bulgarian, Polish, Slovak, Portuguese, Lithuanian, Russian, and Romanian speakers. She specializes in interpretation, translation, and cross-cultural communication, ensuring that migrants have access to essential services and resources. Through her work, she has facilitated smoother interactions between individuals and public institutions, helping to bridge gaps in understanding and accessibility.

In her ongoing efforts to support migrants, she also serves as a Community Connector with Cheshire East Council, where she provides guidance and assistance to individuals navigating life in the UK. In recognition of her contributions, she was honored with the Community Champion Award by the National Black Police Association in 2017.

Outside of her professional work, Elena is passionate about travel, cultural events, and creative arts & crafts projects. She values time spent with family and friends and continues to be an advocate for inclusivity and support within migrant communities.
